THE STORY

Prior Suites is located on Petra Prior Street. Petra Prior was known for his writings in the first half of the 8th century. The name Marjan Forest was first mentioned in his writings, a place which dominates the town and is an integral part of the city of Split.

Petra Prior Street is located between the 3 main points of the city centre. It's less than 50m from the main town square „Pjaca“, Marmont Street and its fish market and the seaside promenade „Riva“ which has through the centuries of history served as Split's main walkway and place for important and distinguished people to be seen and to feel the true city atmosphere. Such positioning has always ensured that the tenants would be in the centre of the town's happenings.

 

The building at number 11 is an old upper middle class merchant residence, which from the middle of the 19th century was owned by the Silić Family, who dealt with textile manufacturing and were one of the biggest textile retailers in the whole region.

The whole house was used for this purpose, the ground floor was used as a shop and the owners always lived on the first floor. The position of the first floor enabled its tenants to be close to all the town's activities, yet at the same time offered them the opportunity to watch everything from a distance.

This peace and tranquility, proximity to the town's activities and prime position in the heart of the town has been passed onto Prior Suites thus, offering our guests a great holiday in a prime location.

 

In fact, we are guided by the example set by the old residents, who throughout history loved Petra Prior Street and never moved regardless of their financial situation. The quality of life that they had would have been impossible to have elsewhere, thus their lives were spent enjoying this wonderful place by living in the very heart of the centre.
